Chemical Trails Quick Review

Written by Anselm Anderson

The Chemical Trails are Brit Indie -Rock band founded by Adrien Liss (singer, songwriter and producer) and the bassist Josh DeMita .

The duo began to produce and write all the music instruments, arrangements and edited their own material until November 2012 when they decided to move to London. They then proceeded to assemble the line-up of today that are Adrien (Lead Voice - Acoustic Guitar -Piano -Synth) Josh ( Bass Guitar - Backing Voice) Enzo Nezi (Guitars- Backing Voice Jack Zonato (Guitars - Backing Voice), Fabio Bizzi (Drums). The band cite Radiohead, Depeche Mode, U2, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Coldplay and in general, music from 80"s 90's as their major influences. The band say of their bond "Prior of being musicians our band it's a family. This passion, energy, and love for art in general, reflects in our songs. We love music and we're fighting every day to do this for the rest of our life, hopefully giving emotions to everyone's listening to our songs” .

They recently released their first EP Chemical Trails , a collection of singles, which you can find on Soundcloud. The EP is a fresh new trek through electronica , anthems, and atmospheric tunes .

Opener Rabbit Hole is a hotbed of electric synths and thick bass that guide you through a haze. Liss’ vocals slither along to the laid back beats. This is a fantastic way to open up an album brimming with emotions.

The Fall is a big stomper. The opening riff harks back to 70’s classic rock mixed with a psychedelic edge that feels like you’ve been caught in a cloud. A polished and beautiful track that could be a hit.

Morning After is a dark acoustic track entrenched in misty overtones and mellifluous vocals that are dripping with emotion and sorrow.

Living Volcain is a gothic track that is reminiscent of the synth rock of Depeche Mode. Liss’ vocals are haunting over the echoes of pounding drums and dual singing adds depth to the melancholic atmosphere.

And finally, Illuminati finishes with a melodic track that would please fans of 80’s electric Pop. Liss delivers a spoken word performance over a driving rhythm mixed with an enchanting chorus
